Peek-a-boo window

image

Here is a card that has been ‘in progress’ for the longest time but I finished it over the weekend – yeah! You can’t tell in the photo but the circle is glittery and you can see something through the window. I stuck a piece of tape behind the patterned paper with the sticky side out – this gave the glitter something to stick to.

To make the scalloped frame, first punch the inside circle the size you want, with plenty of room around it. Then, using the scallop circle punch, centre the circle inside the punch (use the punch upside down to be able to do this properly) and then punch, giving you this little frame.

Christmas inspiration from Stampin Up!

Kelly and I got together to create last night - she wanted to get some Christmas cards started and I needed to get out of the house and make something. These are my creations ... Stampin Up! has a swirly tree a bit like this but I don't so I created my own using some swirly stamps I do own and a mask I cut out. The trees came out better than I had thought - somehow the cards have scanned crooked though - sorry! On the red one I tried out Kelly's new punch that scallops the edge and punches a hole too - very cool (it doesn't show up very well in the scan).

More Christmas Cards

Here is another card I worked on last night ... I tried in a couple of colour combinations but this is the one that scanned the best!

I tried a new technique I found online somewhere and if I ever find out where I'll update you with a link :-)

Oooh, oooh I found it - go look here!

I punched some holes in a strip of scrap paper and then inked my rollergraph wheel and rolled it along the strip, over the holes. The ink only goes on the paper through the holes. Then I rubbed ink through the holes to create the baubles - clear as mud I'm sure! I added the black lines free hand and the sentiment. (The right hand side of the card has been chopped off in this picture but you get the idea I think)

More Cards

Here are some new cards I created recently ... kind of more Sarah inspiration ... with a "I think this needs something more" thrown in to boot.

I hope to get a chance to play tonight ... I have a new punch to christen :-)

Inspired by Sarah

I met a Stampin Up! demonstrator the other night and I was inspired by some of the details she uses on her cards - the little things that make a simple card special. Thanks Sarah.

I thought I'd try some of her techniques out - I tried some pricking and made some tiny eyelets from card to go behind my brads (they are probably too small but I made do with what I had). They are very hard to see in this scan but you get the idea.

More Christmas Cards

Another 10k

Woohoo - I just completed another 10k walk today - my unofficial time was about 90 minutes which is pretty good - I'll let you know the real time when I know it. .....

1hour 31 minutes and 31 seconds - I was 45th out of 102 finishers (in the 10k race) and 36th out of the women in my race!!!......

I have been busy working and doing all my volunteer things for the last few weeks but I did make 12 Christmas cards on Friday night so that was good - they are not all identical - but similar.

Oh well better keep moving a little or my body will seize up.
